Traditionally we learn history through a modern textbook from one point of view, with one story told. A book also is usually told from one standpoint making it harder to understand the meaning and how it leads up to the turning point. This belief contributes to linear history because it is not systematic and does not lead one event to another. With a hypertext world we will become more accepting of cyclic history because in believing in “hypertext” we believe that everything is in a cycle. This means, history will reocurr due to the different events that collide leading to another. An example of this is if a man is walking down the road on his way to the mall to get a shirt (event A), then a woman is walking to the mall to get a dress (event B) and is having a bad day, then they meet at the door and she gets angry (event C), this leads to event D. Because of event A and B the event C is caused causing another event. Each event being linked together like this shows us the cycle in which the events took place. The repeat of events can be caused by linking previous events to future events making it a cycle. This can help us discovered easily how history is caused and what each event leads to.
